To be the most prominent passenger transport service provider in Sri Lanka.

Introduction

As the regulatory body on passenger transportation in Southern Province, the Authority is responsible for planning, monitoring and administer of such plans in order to build a fully integrated and regulated qualitative and quantitative transportation network with the contribution of public and private operators in the Southern Province, in a manner consistent with the development activities in place in the country.

Under this, the Authority implemented the following activities during the year 2017. Operating 14438 daily travel turns under 532 provincial roads, providing public transport facilities under 42 bus stands in the province, provision of common transport facilities in the Southern Province, daily regulating the SLTB and private bus operators in accordance with the public transport policy, maintain continuous development providing public facilities need for the entire passengers, rearranging transport services based on passengers’ demand, finding technological solutions for unlimited transport issues, Implementing energy conservation projects for revenue Planning, and Conducting Programs to Develop the Quality of the transportation according to International Quality Assurance standards.
